About
About Friendo
A small, private app for adult friends — built with safety in from day one.
Friendo is owned and run in the UK by Steven Smith. It’s a deliberately small idea: the fun bits of a photo-sharing app — snaps, pokes, statuses and a friends map — without strangers, without ads in the app, and without an algorithm deciding what you see.
Why it’s invite-only
We’re starting with a private beta so we can look after a small community properly while we test everything. You join with an invite from a friend who’s already a member. Read more in why Friendo starts invite-only.
Why it’s 18+
Friendo shares photos and, if you choose, locations. We’ve kept it for adults. We ask for your date of birth when you join — but a typed date of birth isn’t proof of age, so before we would ever open Friendo to anyone under 18 we would need proper age checks and extra protections.
The rules we follow
Friendo is a user-to-user service under the UK’s Online Safety Act 2023, regulated by Ofcom, and we handle personal data under UK data protection law. Our terms, guidelines, reporting and complaints procedure and privacy notice explain what that means for you.
