Why Friendo starts invite-only
Friendo opens as a small private beta where you can only join with an invite from a friend. Here’s why.

Friendo starts life as a private beta: you can only join with an invite link from a friend who’s already a member, or a beta code from us. That’s on purpose.
A small app for people who know each other
Friendo is for sending photos and pokes to people you actually know. Invites fit that: the people who join are, almost by definition, friends of friends. There are no public profiles to browse and no suggestions of people you “may know”, so a stranger has no easy way in.
Room to get safety right
Every report is read by a person. Starting small means we can keep up, learn where the rough edges are and fix them before Friendo grows. Each member’s invite link can only bring in a handful of new people, which keeps growth gentle.
Adults only
Friendo is for people aged 18 and over. We ask for a date of birth when you join, and we don’t make an account for anyone who says they’re under 18. A typed date of birth isn’t proof of age, so before Friendo could ever be opened to younger people, proper age checks — and extra protections — would have to come first.
Got an invite? Open the link on your phone and you’ll be in within a couple of minutes.
